Our client is already a success story in the Europe and Singapore, supplying seafood products to leading retailers and food service clients. We are looking for a highly ambitious and driven individual to strengthen the team in preparation for continued expansion.

You will need to be a highly accomplished food manufacturing purchasing professional with progressive experience in local and global sourcing, strategic planning and supplier development. You will need to have category management experience, sourcing and implementing new product lines and be able to ensure the right pricing and promotional support is provided.


  • Evaluate supplier reliability; leads supplier sourcing activities and develops new supply sources as required.
  • Manage key suppliers to strengthen relationship while ensuring continuity of supply and reducing business risks.
  • Interact closely with supplies, purchasers and Quality Assurance Officers to resolve complex issues.
  • Lead / support supplier business reviews and driving supplier performance improvements.
  • Lead / support supply agreement negotiations in achieving favourable terms that mitigate business risks, reduce product cost and inventory, resulting total cost saving strategies.
  • Collaborate with management to address all aspects of commodity management including procurement support, commodity business plans and strategies, market trends assessment, pricing and product availability.
  • Work closely with engineering, production on technical specifications and vendor approval process.
  • Any ad-hoc projects or duties as assigned.

Main requirements

  • Bachelor in Engineering or Supply Chain with 5 to 8 years of experiences in sourcing and/or purchasing.
  • Preferably knowledge in source selection, price / cost analysis, negotiation, purchase justification and documentation.
  • Technical competencies in understanding drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Dynamic team player with high integrity and commitment.
  • Prior sourcing/procurement experience within a wide range of technical and non-technical supplier base
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to interact with all levels of management, suppliers and clients
  • Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Works well under pressure, challenges status quo.
