AquacultureTalent is currently seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to work for our successful client based in Düsseldorf, Germany.

As Key Account Manager your role is to build successful, long term relationships with our major distributors, Horeca service, food service in your assigned area in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Key Account Manager will be responsible for the development of named accounts and will work closely with chosen customers to maximize sales opportunities for our client products within agreed budgets and time frames.

The success of this role will be further reliant upon excellent communication skills, an analytical outlook and professional, confident manner.

Role Responsibilities

  • Overall business responsibility in the assigned area: Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 
  • Management of the different channels in which the company is present: National and Regional Accounts of large-scale distribution (Private label/Manufacturer’s brand) / HORECA SERVICE / FOOD SERVICE / DISTRIBUTORS / COLLECTIVES. 
  • Negotiation of trade agreements with assigned clients.
  • Development of suitable strategies for specific accounts.
  • Planning objectives of the assigned accounts.
  • Loyalty and development of client portfolio.
  • Identification of new business opportunities.
  • If necessary, training and supervision of the commercial team, oriented to different channels in which the company is present.
  • Detect business opportunities and expand the existing portfolio within the active customer base.
  • Development and presentation of business proposals.
  • Achievement of the strategic objectives of sale
  • Develop an integrated strategy for the company’s key accounts.
  • Analyze sales data to improve the results of large accounts under your liability.

Main requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration or similar.
  • Masters in Commercial Management.
  • Good skills in Excel spreadsheets (Microsoft Office) are essential.
  • Experience of at least 5 years in great consumption companies, preferably in the food sector; with experience in sales of private label or own brands, and in negotiation with the major national and regional accounts of the modern distribution.
  • German native speaker and C1 English is essential. Spanish basic level or other languages knowledge shall be valued.
  • Business skills, customer focus, autonomy and person with contacts. Knowledge of the market and the sector.
  • Negotiating capacity.
  • Availability to travel.
  • Outgoing and amiable personality, good relational skills, dynamism, and problem-solving capacity.
  • Person with initiative and trade skills
  • Management of time and ability to work in team.

Nice to have

  • Additional training in Business Management, Sales Management will be appreciated
  • User level knowledge of SAP will be appreciated.
